“After 15 years cooking professionally, I built Kitchenonomy because I was tired of reviews written by people who had never cooked a serious meal. Every recommendation here comes from real testing in a real kitchen.”

Chef Emma — Founder, Kitchenonomy

My Background

I trained at culinary school with a focus on kitchen technique and spent over a decade working in professional restaurant kitchens before transitioning to recipe development and product testing. That combination is rare in the review space — most writers are either journalists or home cooks, not people who have worked a line service and understand what it means for a piece of equipment to actually hold up under pressure.

I launched Kitchenonomy because I kept finding the same problem: review sites that copy manufacturer specs, post affiliate links, and call it a recommendation. Everything you read here is based on purchases I made myself and equipment I used for weeks before forming an opinion.

My work reaches hundreds of thousands of home cooks each month. Whether you are outfitting a first kitchen or upgrading after years of cooking, my goal is to give you the same advice I would give a friend.

How I Test

01

Independent Purchases

Every product is bought at full retail price. No free samples, no sponsored placements. My budget is the only factor in what gets tested.

02

30-Day Minimum Use

I cook with each product for at least 30 days before writing. Short-term impressions miss the performance issues and wear patterns that define long-term value.

03

Consistent Scoring

Build quality, ease of use, cooking performance, cleaning effort, and value are scored the same way across every product in a category.

04

Regular Updates

New models appear, prices shift, and products are discontinued. I revisit top picks every six months to keep recommendations current.
